Bichos lamp series from Portuguese architect Martinho Pita, in Portuguese means ‘being’. And these lights really reminded creatures, they look like some crazy animal frozen in motion.
The Bichos are handmade from pruned Portuguese Holly Oak trees. The light source is coming from a closed textile cord threaded through each branch as the life line, such as venous blood gives.
Designers say that it is very important to understand the dynamics of each branch to freeze and form to create the effect.
This lamp is one of the best examples of natural and minimalist design.
